MAC Stars 'N' Rockets Dupe ♥

Possible MAC Stars 'N' Rockets Dupe

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying the amazing sunny weather we have, well certainly where I live!

Today in the post I received the items I purchased of MAC on Thursday, one of them being the eye shadow in Stars 'N' Rockets, I think I have an eye shadow in my collection that is very similar and an extremely inexpensive possible dupe?!

So I bought the Stars 'N' Rockets eye shadow and it is a lovely purple/blue duo chrome. I got this in the little pot, at around £10.80? but you can get it for £9 in pan form, and put it into a mac palette, which I would have done, had it not been sold out sadly.

Left is the MUA shade 9 peart, Right is MAC Star 'n' Rockets.

So now for the possible dupe, I think its a great dupe anyways. Its by the brand MUA - makeup academy and its in shade 9 pearl. MUA eye shadows only cost £1 !! amazing, eh? This eye shadow is so pigmented and is the exact colour of the MAC Stars and Rockets except its a bit of a darker purple, however if you do a very light application you can get near enough the EXACT colour.

TOP- MUA & BOTTOM- MAC

I do prefer the MAC eye shadow as its not as dark a purple but if you are careful in application of the MUA you can get the same effect. Both are amazing colours and if you are looking for this purple/blue duo chrome and don't want to splurge on a £9+ eye shadow get down to your superdrug and snap up this MUA shade.

Next I will have an amazing little Glossy Box Review for you all so stop by soon for that!

Garnier BB Cream ♥

Garnier BB Cream Review

Hello! I am back with a BB cream review by Garnier. So on facebook a few weeks ago I requested Garniers BB Cream sample pack. Soon enough it came in the post all cutely packaged with three mini testers in fair. I used all 3 so have a pretty good idea of how I like the product.

If you are un familar a BB cream is like an all in one cream, moisturizer, foundation, primer, light for skin blah blah - look it up for more details. Garniers BB cream is priced around £10 for a quite a big bottle and I was in boots one day debating on picking it up then seen the samples online so thought, lets try it out for free, if I like it I can buy it!

Sample Pack - comes with 3 sachets

Firstly, I have heard quite a few bad reviews on this BB cream. However I have a LOVE, hate relationship, more love than hate though! I like the product itself but some things I don't quite like. One I like the coverage, but I do feel for a BB cream its too cakey! I like the packaging and the smell is quite nice. I have the Maybelline BB cream that is £7.99 I think, its a lot smaller and smells rotten and coverage is quite poor. Garniers' BB cream doesn't have the best colour range for skin tones I find. I received light in my sample pack. WOW its orange, but of course I made it work ;) If you want to buy this try it out on your skin first from sample/testers as light=orange
(defo not light!)

I do like this product but waiting to finish my maybelline BB cream before buying the Garnier, or else i'll never finish it and it'll be a waste of a product. So all in all I like this product, but remember please pick up the sample pack. It's worth it :)

Garnier -BB Cream on the skin - Didn't have a better pick (sorry Its bad)

Stick for the Lips ♥

Favourite Lipsticks

Hello! Today I have my favourite lipsticks (other than MAC). One of my very first posts was my MAC lipstick collection so if you want to see that, go check that post out. This post includes my favourite lip sticks majority are 'drug store' as americans would say, but there are a few high end lipsticks in there too. - Something for everyone, theres a range of colours too, mostly nude though. Without further a do..

From Left to Right: BeigeIndecise, Sugar Frosting, Sweet Tart, Catfight, Nude Ingenue & Wild Orchid

Firstly we have a high end lipstick by 'Dior' this is 298- Beige Indecise. The colour is nude and has some pinky undertones which is quite nice. I bought this lipstick as for my formal/prom I got my make up done at a dior counter in Boots, and this was the lipstick the lady put on me. Its lovely subtlecolor and I didn't have any colours like this in my collection so I thought, why not? This is my only Dior lipstick but I am so pleased, the smell of this lipstick is heavenly, and I quite like the packaging too.

Next two  is not really a lipstick but to me does just the same jobbie. Its the new revlon colourburst lip butters in Sugar Frosting, and Sweet Tart. These lip butters are like a  VERY moisturizing lip balm with pigment for a hint of colour. Sugar frosting is a lovely nude pink but on the lips really only gives a shiny soft look - my most used one out of the two as I wore it to school probably everyday as it was so subtle. Sweet tart I only wear on occassions as its quite a bright magenta colour and very pigmented but the feel of these lipbutters are amazing and really are what they are hyped up to be!

Next is another high end - Nars in Catfight, again this is my only nars lipstick, I like the light plummy colour but im not to keen on the texture on your lips its quite drying, only bought it for the colour.. sucker right?

From Left to Right: BeigeIndecise, Sugar Frosting, Sweet Tart, Catfight, Nude Ingenue & Wild Orchid

Nearly there.. next is L'oreals Caresse lipstick in 501-Nude Ingenue. This is the most moisturizing lipstick I have ever experienced in my life! It glides on like a dream and the collection has such a nice variety of colours. I picked up this brown nude because I didn't have one and wanted to try one of the lipsticks from this collection. Only con I have with these lipsticks is the applicator is rather small and oddly shaped for usage.. - in my opinion.

Lastly but certainly not least my favourite colour. Revlons Wild orchid, I purchased this lipstick as I wanted MACs Show orchid, but it was only limited edition. This revlon lipstick is the PERFECT dupe. The colour is perfect when you have a tan. Its a beautiful dark fushia with quite a lot of blue undertones, I only dare wear this on nights out though! If you are very daring with your makeup please pick this up, you won't be disappointed!

Thats all for now guys, if anyone would like any requested posts please email me at chloexarmstrong@googlemail.com or post a comment below! Thanks for reading

Lets Talk Bronzers ♥

Comparing Bronzers

Hello,
so today I decided to do a comparison post on some bronzers I have, and tell you what I like about each and why, and what I don't like. Hopefully this could help out people who aren't really into bronzers & contouring but who are looking for some information to start.

Left to Right: 'Hoola', 'Laguna' & Delice de Poudre.

So I have 3 bronzers that I am going to talk about, these include, Nars famous 'Laguana' bronzer, Benefits' 'Hoola' and Bourjois 'Delice de Poudre.'

So I will start out with the cheapest of the 3 I have choosen which is BourjoisDelice de Poudre.' I think its around £7.99 mark? I could be totally wrong but it's like half the price of the other two. The interesting thing about this bronzer is that it acctually smells like CHOCOLATE, not kidding it really does the smell is delightful. So I have this bronzer in the shade 52, and its a nice light bronzing powder that has a slight shimmer, and honestly I prefer only wearing this on nights out as I would prefer a matte bronzer for everyday! None the less I think its great especially for only starting to contour etc, its relatively cheap & the smells a bonus. Also I do actually have two of these..

Left to Right: 'Hoola', 'Laguna' & Delice de Poudre.

Next is Benefits Hoola, my favourite bronzer out of them all! Its £20+ but honestly I think its worth it. Its a matte bronzer which you can use everyday for contouring and the finish that it leaves on your skin is flawless in my opinion. I couldn't say more good things about this bronzer, so I highly recommend it! I think i'm on my third box of it? and recently I purchased the mini for travelling! I definitely prefer it to the next bronzer I'm going to talk about.

Next like i said is Nars FAMOUS Laguna. There is such a hype in the blogger/beauty world about this bronzer so I give into it all and made the purchase, However I myself was slightly disappointed it slightly shimmery also like the Bourjois bronzer which I can live with I dunno, its a nice bronzer/colour and pigmented and everything people say.. So I guess I do like it but it just doesn't compare to the Hoola - for me. Oh and its around £22? you do get quite a lot of product as well!

Left to Right: 'Hoola', 'Delice de Poudre.' & 'Laguna'.

And for applying? Well I like to use my stigma- large angled contour brush.

Day Out, With Me♥

Girly Day Out

Hello Everyone! So not one of my usual beauty related posts..
So today mum and I decided to head out for lunch and some retail therapy. We went to a little cafe near where I live. Its a little quint french themed cafe/shop and had the cutest decor ever, I sort of felt like I was in France..

Such cute decor!
So I order little dainty cheese and ham sandwiches and a glass of milk, and mum order potato & broccoli soup with bread rolls and some pink lemonade
(which was so yummy)

Pink Lemonade!

Cafe: 'Grey Goose'

Then we headed to our local shopping centre as I wanted to pick up some hair dye. Because about a month ago I went to a  salon to get the ends of my hair 'dip dyed' but it turned out ginger as lady didn't leave it in long enough, so I purchased some blonde dye to do it myself - I officially don't trust hairdresser to dye it. - HELLO OMBRE

We then made a stop in Primark and I literally started flinging piles of clothes into my arms to try on even though I said I WOULD NOT buy anything.. However I did only buy 2 tops, a pair of shorts and socks as well as 4 pairs of sandals/flip flips. Honestly that is good had you off seen the mountain of clothes before I went to the till..

Haulage

So now i'm home currently running a bath and contemplating some revision later :( wish me luck.

Lots of Love,

NAKED 2 ♥

Urban Decay Naked 2

Hey lovelys!

I am sorry for the absence this week has been hectic, to say the least. Was my last week off Upper sixth so had my leavers and subjects to sort out for my A'Levels I will probably not post as frequent because these exams are so important I need to study.. I have had other things on my mind too( not going to go into ) so blogging wasn't on my to do list so sorry for the neglect.. but I am back, with a NAKED 2 REVIEW! YAYY

(Left to Right): Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted and Blackout.

I know there is so many reviews out there on Urban Decays Naked 2 pallete but I thought I would do my own! So yeah the naked 2 palette is the follow up palette from Urban Decays famous Naked palette, which I also have. But I have to say I DEF prefer their Naked 2 more!

So the first palette had mostly shimmer shadows, this palette which I just got on friday has a nice mix of half shimmer half matte give or take. This is great as I prefer to apply matte shadows as a base over my urban decay primer, and I prefer matte in my crease and inner corner! There are 5 new shades in this palette also!

The naked palettes and designer for a netural, natural make up look, and is great as I can use this everyday! (I use my Alice and Wonderland palette by urban decay for nights out, + my colour tattoo pots by maybelline)

I forgot to swatch 'Verve' which you can see in above picture, its a pale champagne colour.

The palette also comes with a double ended brush, one side for blending, and the other a flat shader brush. Also with a cute deinty little lip gloss which is always handy dandy for the purse! :)

Quality of the shadows is great as usual, I wouldn't expect anything less from Urban Decay anyways! Very pigmented, easy to blend and applies well! Packaging of the Naked 2 palette is far better! Sleeker, cleaner, an amazing snap close tin! The Naked palette that I have got so dirty and just didn't look healthy.. But this packaging is amazing as far as packaging goes.

Free Lip Gloss.

Urban Decay would suggest that 'If you have never purchased NAKED before and can only choose one, go with NAKED1 if you are warm-toned or have a richer skin tone, and go with NAKED2 if you are cool-toned and/or have very fair skin' However both I find are very similar and I would prefer the naked 2, as it has the mix off matte and shimmer.

If you have any other questions, email me chloex08@hotmail.co.uk or add a comment down below, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Lots of Love,

Chloe - xoxo
